Variant®
3,333 robots. Sold out in an hour.
hero — the character
the idea
A robot with a wardrobe. I designed the character, built a fashion system around him (helmets, outfits, bags, swords, shoes) and generated 3,333 variations from it.
No brief, no client, no design director. It sold out in an hour.
the character
Urban fashion on a machine. The joke and the point are the same: a robot who cares what he wears.
character turnaround
the wardrobe
Every variation came from one system. Traits built to combine without ever producing a bad outfit, which meant designing the rules as carefully as the pieces.

one-of-ones
A small set built entirely by hand, outside the trait system.

physical
Custom shoes manufactured and shipped to holders. The part that made it real: a shoe I'd only ever rendered turned up in a box.
